Worship Ministry

Whether you sing or play an instrument, you'll find a multitude of opportunities to use your gifts for the Lord at First Baptist. From worship services to major musical productions, there is a place for you to use musical skills in service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For information on the Worship Ministry here at First Baptist, please call (281) 991-2130 or e-mail worship@fbp.org.

Worship Choir

If you have a passion for worship and a desire to help lead the church to praise our Lord...then come and be a part of our Worship Choir! You have the opportunity to be part of one of our most dynamic ministries in the church. We are seeking people who have a passion for praise to come along beside us as we lead our church family to worship God in our 9:30 am blended service. Being a part of the Worship Choir will not only impact your life, but you will also be directly involved in impacting thousands of other lives for the glory of God. We enroll continually, and there is no audition necessary. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm in the Choir Room and at 8:45 am on Sundays in the Choir Loft before the 9:30 am service on Sunday mornings. Come to the Wednesday rehearsal, and tell one of our greeters that you would like to join the Choir. Childcare is provided for all regular rehearsals.

Worship Orchestra

The primary ministry of the Worship Orchestra is to glorify God by reaching up to Him through worship, reaching out to the lost and hurting with the healing message of Christ, and reaching into our Orchestra family with love.
The Orchestra leads in Worship by providing special music and supports the Worship Choir every week during the 9:30 am Sunday blended service. The Orchestra is also a part of additional music & worship presentations during the year.

The Orchestra of First Baptist Church, Pasadena, is a full Orchestra made up of woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion. Membership in the Orchestra includes adults of all ages. The Orchestra rehearses twice weekly. Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 6:50 pm in the Orchestra Rehearsal Room and at 8:40 am in the Choir Loft before the 9:30 am service on Sunday mornings. Childcare is provided for all regular rehearsals.

Worship Band

Our Worship Band is a collection of musicians that desire to serve God by leading worship. We believe that all those serving in our worship ministry, whether center stage or on an instrument, are worshippers first and then worship leaders. If this is your heart, our Worship Band may be the place for you. If you play a rhythm instrument (piano, keys, guitar, bass, drums or percussion), have the ability to play in time with precision and passion and have a sincere desire to serve, we want to speak with you! The ability to learn music quickly and play in all keys is a must as we provide leaders for weekly services.

Praise Team

A praise team is a group of singers who seek to worship God and glorify Him through music. The team is a rotating group of auditioned singers who can learn music and vocal parts quickly and independently, blend well, and are available to sing in the 9:30 am Sunday blended service once every 6-8 weeks. There are periodically auditions for this group. A written application, a vocal audition and regular attendance in the Worship Choir are required to be considered for the 9:30 am service Praise Team.

Joysingers - Senior Adult Choir

JoySingers are adults 55 and up that love to sing. They meet periodically for 6-7 weeks on Mondays at 9:30 a.m. in E-152 for fellowship and singing. They also host an annual Gospel Singing.
